It has been many months since I had a dream from the Lord. Therefore, when God gave me a dream on Friday morning, I was filled with excitement.

My dream was brief, yet vivid and colorful. In my dream, I was at my home, walking outside with my Mom. We were looking around at a garden spot where we were going to plant vegetables. The timing of the dream was clear, as it coincided with the moment in time we are in now, when the trees are budding and producing blooms. (At least, that is what it is in my area.)

In my dream, I could see various stages of trees coming into bloom for the season. Then we walked by another tree. In this dream, mature sweet potatoes were growing. Yes, I know sweet potatoes do not grow on trees. But that is what it was. This tree was filled with large, sweet potatoes on every branch. In astonishment, I was showing my Mom. The funny thing is that we weren’t confused by them growing in trees; we were simply excited at the tremendous harvest.

We walked over to another location and examined a different tree. It was filled with giant pineapples. Again, pineapples don’t grow in trees – but this tree was full of them. My mom reached up and picked one – and I woke up.

Although I don’t yet have a complete understanding of this dream, there are a few things I understand.

First, the timing is now. I am a hundred percent sure of that. It was evident in the dream that it was taking place in this very season. It was the time in when trees were starting to bloom – as it is now in my area.

Another thing that was crystal clear was that the harvest came from a place one would not expect it to come from. The sweet potatoes were growing on trees. They do not grow that way.

Pineapples were growing on trees, which is not how that typically works. This harvest is emerging from unexpected places, areas where it seems impossible for them to thrive. That idea excites me tremendously.

In dreams, a tree often represents a source of life or influence – something God moves through. Fruit often represents resources or means of increase.

Therefore, this dream is about a harvest or resource coming from an unexpected source or influence. That makes perfect sense to me; doesn’t it to you?

God’s ways are higher than our ways – He can bring a harvest from any source He desires.

Think about it. Jesus fed thousands with a little boy’s meal. Peter retrieved the money from the mouth of the fish to pay taxes. Ravens fed Elijah. Abraham offered a ram caught in the thicket just in the nick of time. God can use any source He desires. He has done it numerous times, and He will do it for you and me.

I believe God is saying, “There is a harvest ready for picking, but it is not where you would think or imagine it to be.”

I’m not sure about you, but this excites me. In my dream, I was led directly to the harvest. I pray that this very week, God will lead you to your harvest, even if it is in a place you would never have imagined. That, my friend, is my prayer for you.
