Did you know your body listens to YOU more than anyone else? On a daily basis your brain is listening to every single word you say. Not only that, but your body is responding to what you say. It is also responding to the things you choose to think about or meditate on. You may not always see it, but it is always happening. That is how God created us.

The Bible says, “As a man thinketh, so is he.” This is a simple truth from the word of God.

Scientific studies have also confirmed this truth. In studies they found that repeated thoughts and words strengthen our neural pathways. The more we think a thought or the more we repeat a thought, the easier it becomes for our brain to think it again. The easier it becomes for our brain to BELIEVE it.

This makes so much sense to me.

The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing. So each time our brain ‘hears’ something, it becomes easier for our brain to believe it. As we think about it and speak it over and again, eventually our brain believes what it is hearing without doubt. Doesn’t that make sense?

Romans 12:2 says, Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Each time we choose to believe the word of God over our circumstances and declare God’s word over the situation, we are training our mind to align with what God has said.

Every time we declare, “what is the BEST possible outcome, instead of what is the WORST possible outcome” we are retraining our brain or renewing our mind to believe for the best – and remember – as a man thinketh, so is he.

I am not talking about pretending problems, challenges or issues don’t exist. No, I am talking about no matter what is going on in our life, we choose to cause our mind to think as God thinks and like He says to think.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Phil 4:8)

The Amplified Bible says it like this; For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

I love that! Fix your eyes on them.

That’s not pretending problems do not exist, that is simply setting your eyes, your mind and your heart on what God says about it.

Our brains learn fear, it can also learn faith. We learn anxiety, we can also learn peace. We learn how to expect the worse, we can also learn how to expect the best.

How do we do that? Retrain our brains or as the Bible says, renew our minds.

The thoughts we feed our mind become the thoughts that direct our steps. For that reason, we must fill our mind with the word of God. We must speak life over ourselves and our family and we must think on what God calls good things. As you begin to renew your mind in alignment with God says about you – your life will reflect that change. Every single time. It is my hope for you that you begin today to renew your mind and change your outlook.
