Yesterday we talked about rest and opening the door to unbelief. I want to talk a little more about that today.IMG_4096
Hebrews 4:11 tells us to ‘enter into His rest so that we won’t fall into unbelief.’
The more I walk with God the more I learn that unbelief is something we need to actively stand against. Most of us think unbelief is the opposite of faith, but I believe you can have faith and unbelief at the same time.

In Mark 9:24 we find the father of a child Jesus was about to heal shouting out ‘Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.’

In Mark 16:14 the Bible says; ‘Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.’

I don’t think any of us could say the disciples had no faith, I know they had faith, however, here in this scripture we also find they had unbelief.

Unbelief must be dealt with, and dealt with quickly. I didn’t realize until recently that unbelief has a voice, I don’t know why I didn’t realize that, it makes perfect sense. I know faith has a voice, faith speaks and declares the word and the promises of God.

Unbelief has a voice also, it speaks, it declares the opposite of the word of God.

I have been standing in faith for some things lately. Often, I would have ‘thoughts’ that ‘this is not going to happen, this is crazy to believe for.’ I would feed my faith and feed my faith and feed my faith to get rid of ‘my thoughts’ but after studying unbelief I realized these weren’t my thoughts at all, they were the voice of unbelief.

Just last evening I heard a report of something, immediately several ‘thoughts’ came to mind. This time I recognized that it wasn’t ‘my thoughts’ it was the voice of unbelief.

I stood up and said ‘voice of unbelief, I rebuke you and I command you to shut up, you will not talk to me, there are no doors open to you, shut up and go in Jesus name.’

Do you know what happened? It stopped, immediately. Not another word. Wow!

What I thought were my thoughts were not my thoughts, they were the voice of another. They were the voice of unbelief. They will not talk to me any longer, they will not disguise themselves as my thoughts another day.

There is more than one voice that speak to us. One is the voice of truth. It speaks only what God says. It speaks only what the word of God declares. It will never speak anything that does not line up with God’s word.

The other voice is the voice of unbelief. It says things like ‘so and so didn’t get healed and they have more faith than you.’ It says things like ‘you have given for years and nothing happened, why don’t you stop this, it’s obviously not working.’ It says things like ‘you have heard that same word prophesied over and over again and it never comes to pass.’ That voice is a voice you can’t give place to, it is the voice of unbelief.

Ephesians 4:27 says; ‘give no place to the devil.’

John 10:5 tells us to follow ONE VOICE, God’s voice, and to never follow the voice of a stranger.
Friends, it is time we stop the enemy in his tracks. It is time we close the door to unbelief and its voice, don’t you think? Do like Jesus did, rebuke unbelief. Give it no place in your life or in your thoughts. We are people of faith, we listen to one voice…our Father’s, Jehovah God.
