Saturday, all day, a song was on my heart. Not a Christian song and not the entire song, just one line. “You know I’ve always been a dreamer.” Over and over this song played through my mind. I think it is by the Eagles and I don’t even recall the rest of the song.
Early Sunday morning I had a dream. It was a short dream and inconsequential, or so it seemed, but even upon waking, I knew it was from God. Still, it would be hours later before I understood the meaning of the dream.
In my dream, I walked out into my backyard. The timeline was the present time we are in, February and long before planting season. As I walked in the yard, I came across a grapevine. I stooped down to look at it because I knew I had not planted anything yet. It was loaded down with bright green grapes. Bunches of grapes hung everywhere.
“Breanne” I exclaimed! “Look at this!” She bent down to see the grapes. I could tell there were more vegetables behind the grapes. I slipped my hand behind the grapes to see what it was and pulled out a cucumber. It’s her favorite snack vegetable. However, this was no common cucumber, it was huge. Probably five to seven times the size of a normal cucumber. I woke up.
All morning a visual of those grapes and cucumber stayed on my mind. I prayed over the dream for a short time. Then I looked up what grapes meant in a Bible symbol book. The first thing I discovered was that grapes symbolize the Spirit of Promise, the Holy Spirit. They also symbolize the fruit of the Spirit.
After more prayer, God led me to a couple scriptures. Let’s look at the book of Acts and the Upper Room experience.
Acts 1:4-8 says, “And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. (verse 14)
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2)
Then He led me to the book of Joel
And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days. (Joel 2:28-29)
In the book of Acts, the Promise of the Holy Spirit manifested just as Jesus said it would. I believe we are now seeing the beginning of the manifestation of the promise found in the book of Joel. We see it in universities and churches across the nation. We are now, in that time. The time of the Promise of the Spirit. The harvest is ripe! It’s time to take part in the harvest.
You have heard me say, “Don’t miss your time of visitation.”
If I could shout that from the rooftops right now, I would. You may not be able to attend one of the revivals, if so, don’t fret. God is not contained to a building or an area – He is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh and you can partake if you so choose. On the other hand, if you can be in one of those meetings, go and take that presence to your home, your city, your neighborhood. God is indeed doing something in our nation – let’s all be a part of this mighty move of God in whatever way we can. And…pray with us that this fire of revival will touch every city and state with the glory of God.
