“I never forget a seed.”  These are words God spoke to me several years ago.

It was a normal morning, like any other.  I was working at the office.  I had gone through the mail and I had a check in my hand.  I laid it on Breanne’s desk to be deposited.

As I laid down the check, the Lord arrested me and said, “I never forget a seed.”

That was all He said.  I thought to myself, “well, that’s good!”

Frankly, I didn’t think a lot more about it that day.  Little did I know, He had much more to say to me about this subject.

Later that night, I turned on my computer to listen to preaching.  As I was listening, the preacher began to talk about a time when God had someone bless him with a new car.   He asked God why He had the man bless him with a new car.  God replied, “I never forget a seed.”

God had my attention!  This was exactly what He had said to me earlier.

In Acts 10:4, Jesus called Cornelius and said, “your prayers and your alms have come up before God.”

He was, in fact, saying, “Cornelius, you have been praying and sowing seed.  God has seen what you are doing.  He sent me to honor you for your prayers AND your seed.”

God never forgets a seed!

I began to think about the many seeds that I have sown over the years.  I thought about the ones for which I have not yet seen a harvest.  I realized that even if I had forgotten some of those seeds, God has not forgotten.

He takes note of every prayer and every seed we have ever sown.  Each one will reap a harvest, if we continue to follow him.  For a seed to not reap a harvest would be going against the law of seedtime and harvest.  Harvest is inevitable if you continue to stand in faith.  Just as it was for Cornelius.

Several years ago, I heard of someone who needed a computer, our business had an extra one so I sent it to her.  I had totally forgotten about it.  But God never forgets a seed.  A few years later someone gave me a computer.  A really nice computer.  One day when I was typing on that computer, God brought that seed to my mind.  He reminded me that this was my harvest from the seed I had forgotten about.

How about you?  Do you have seed in the ground that you have given up on?  Do you have seed that was sown so long ago that you thought you would never see a harvest from?  Do you have seed in the ground that you didn’t think God noticed?  He noticed.  It has come up before Him, just as your prayers have.

You see, our seed, our alms come up before God and He is well pleased.  As they come up before Him, He will do for us just what He did for Cornelius.  Jesus will show up and our harvest will be with Him. (Revelation 22:12)

Nothing you do for God or His kingdom is in vain.  Nothing goes unnoticed by God.  He doesn’t forget a thing.  Every prayer, every confession, every sacrifice, every seed sown, every time you forgave, every time you loved when it was hard.  He remembers it all.  He counts it as seed for you and He is sending a harvest.

God has said and confirmed, “’I never forget a seed.”  Let those words encourage you today.

God is so good.  He is so faithful.  He is the LORD OF THE HARVEST.  He is coming, just as He did with Cornelius.  And His reward is with Him.
