Most times, when we hear these words, with whatever measure you mete, it will be measured to you again, we think of giving or money.  While that is a truth, it is not the only thing God talks about in this context of measuring.

Luke 6:38 says; Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

This scripture in the book of Luke, is one of the most often referenced scripture on giving.  However, I want to look at a different scripture today.

Mark 4:24 says; And he said unto them; take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

What is Jesus talking about here?  He is talking about the measure of the word you are sowing.

Did you realize that the amount of word you have consistently in your heart is the amount of the power of God you have consistently working for you?

It’s true, the amount of word you sow into your heart daily will determine the amount of power that is at work in your life.  If you cut back on the word of God being sown into your life, then you cut back the effect of God’s power in your life.

The good news is…if you increase the word of God in your life then you also increase the power of God in your life.  Little word equals little power.  Much word equals much power.  What you do with the word of God determines it effectiveness in your life.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 says; for this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

The word of God works EFFECTIVELY in those who believe it and receive it as the word of God.  Friends, that is good news!

Today, if you need more power in your life put more of the word of God in your heart.  If you are not seeing the effectiveness of the word of God in your life, add more word.  Keep adding word until the word of God begins to bring you victory after victory after victory.

I was talking to God the other day about something I have been praying about.  I began to say, “God, I don’t know how you are going to do it.” As those words began to come out of my mouth, the Holy Spirit stopped me.  I instead said, “God, I know how you are going to do it, You will do it by the power of Your word.”

I don’t know that I have ever said that before.  In the past I would say, “God, I don’t know how you are going to do it…”  God changed my thoughts and changed my words.  In doing so, He changed my perception.

Isaiah 55:11; So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Friends, the word of God is the way God will accomplish things in your life.  You have His promise on it.  The word of God will not return void, it will accomplish what it is sent for.

The only question that remains is, are you sowing His word into your life?  Are you sending forth the word He has given you to speak into your situation by declaring His word daily?  If you are, it will accomplish what you are sending it for…only believe.

Meditate on This…

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12
