Yesterday, we talked about pulling down strongholds. I want to expound a little more on that if I may. The scripture in 2 Corinthians 10 goes on to say…
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Co 10:4-6)
The phrase, casting down, again speaks of taking something apart, piece by piece, until there is nothing left. If a lie has taken root in you mind for a long period of time, it is up to you to cast down, dismantle, take apart piece by piece every single lie until you are completely free.
To take apart every lie you must tune into the word of God and then submit to that word, obeying whatever it says. It is only by aligning our mind and our thoughts with the word of God that we begin to break down every lie. It is only with the word of God that we can shatter the lies of the enemy.
As we begin to study the word of God and open ourselves up to that truth, we begin to free ourselves from all the lies that have held up captive. The lies that have ruled how we perceive every thought, every word spoken to us, and every situation we have walked through. The day we begin to apply the word of God is the day freedom begins to take hold, and the lies begin to shatter.
You may not find complete freedom in one day or in one prayer. Those lies that the enemy has been feeding you, probably didn’t take root in one day – it was more than likely something that took place over an extended period of time. Therefore, it will take time to get rid of them to the point where it is like they never existed, but it is possible.
I fully believe that God wants His people to walk in freedom, total freedom. It was never His intention for us to be imprisoned by the lies of the enemy. He sent Jesus to give us complete freedom, and He made the way for us to have that freedom – not only through the blood of Jesus but also through the word of God. Reading it. Getting it in our mind to the point that the lies of the enemy lose their power. Lose their hold. Until we are completely free of every lie and walking in the fulness of the truth of God’s word.
Pause and think about this for a moment.
Imagine one day, just one day of not having even one single lie, one negative thought, one thing that doesn’t align with the word of God taking root in your mind or thought pattern. I know, it is hard to imagine because those thoughts are going to come. Remember, they are not established when they come, they are only an invitation to receive them. Don’t receive them. Resist them. Cast them down – bring them into captivity of the word of God.
It’s what Jesus did. Each time the devil spoke to him, he answered with the word of God. If we are to be like Christ, we must do the same thing. Each time a thought comes that is not from God, we answer it VERBALLY, with the word of God. We can only do that if we are filled with His word.
If you are hearing negative thoughts or lies from the enemy that you can’t immediately combat or cast down, you need to become more full of God’s word. His word is your mighty weapon. His word is that weapon that is powerful, strong, able to bear calamities and trials with fortitude and patience, and the power to complete something. His word will bring what you have need of to completion. His word will completely demolish every single lie of the enemy if you will apply and obey it. His word can only fail when we refuse to fight with it.
Today, I encourage you to pick up your sword of the word of God and fight. Push back every lie. Demolish every stronghold and walk free. It’s time. Apply His word and walk free.
