This morning, I was reminded of a scripture found in Genesis 26:12-14.

Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So, the Philistines envied him.

While meditating on this scripture, I was reminded of a statement a friend once shared with me. She was listening to a minister preach on this scripture when he made this statement; “Isaac’s seed spoke directly to the famine and said, “you are not going to be here long AND you will not affect me or my household.” ‘

God told Isaac, “Don’t be afraid and don’t run, just sow and I will bless you.” Isaac obeyed God, the Bible says he sowed in the land of famine and reaped a hundred-fold return that same year. God is saying the same thing to us today. DO NOT FEAR. Continue to obey My Word and I will continue to bless you.

Not only did Isaac reap a hundred-fold in that same year…the prosperity continued growing…until he became very wealthy and had so many possessions that the Philistines were jealous of him and his wealth. That, my friend, is what God does for His people, who continue to trust Him and obey His Word, in famine.

Of course, when we think of famine, we think of financial lack. It’s true, when you sow financial seeds for debt freedom or to meet a need, that seed speaks. It speaks to the debt or the lack and says, “You are on your way out of my life.”

That being said, financial seeds are not the only seeds that speak.

When we sow the Word of God into our heart – it also speaks.

If we are battling sickness and sow God’s Word into our heart, that word says, “Sickness, you can’t stay in my body, you are on your way out.”

If we sow the Word of God concerning debt freedom, that Word speaks and says, “Debt you are on your way out.”

When we sow the Word of God concerning peace into our heart, that Word speaks and says, “Anxiety, you do not belong to me, fear, you can’t stay in me, Jesus took you at the cross, I resist you and you must go.”

If we have family issues and sow God’s Word into our heart, that Word speaks and says, “In the name of Jesus, my family is in unity, we love one another and we are restored in Jesus’ name.”

Whatever seed you are sowing, financial or the Word of God, know that the seed you are sowing is indeed, speaking on your behalf.

Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Whatever we sow, we will reap.

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent  it.”

God’s Word does not return void. We speak His Word with the same authority and power that Jesus did. It will accomplish what God says it will accomplish. It will prosper where we send it. Therefore, it bears repeating. Whether we are sowing financial seeds or seeds of the Word of God, they are speaking on our behalf.

Put your seed in the ground and let it speak to the lack or famine in your life – let your seed declare, “famine, you are not welcome here. God has declared me blessed, He says everything I touch prospers, therefore my seed is prospering and producing a hundred-fold return. But it will not stop there, my seed will keep producing until I am very prosperous, to the point that those around me are jealous, just as they were with Isaac. Now, speak seed, speak to famine and drive it out of here.”

And…put the seed of the Word of God into your heart and allow it to speak to sickness, lack, disease, weariness, anxiety or division. Let that seed drive out every plot and plan of the enemy. It is that powerful.

It is only in giving that we receive. It is only in sowing that we reap a harvest, there is no other way. If a seed is not planted there will be nothing to harvest. I read a scripture today in the Passion translation that I just loved, let me share it with you. It is from Galatians 6:7; Make no mistake about it, God will never be mocked! For what you plant will be the very thing you harvest. The harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted.

To me that is simply another way of saying your seed will speak FOR you. Whatever challenge you find yourself in today, sow your seed and let it proclaim your future. Glory to God!!!
